About Mark McMahon
WHO IS MARK McMAHON? Photographer,
writer, comedian, dentist and spirited adventurer. Who knows
what he will be tomorrow! Mark has a unique ability to combine
his photography with words to express himself. He explores the
inner and outer journey of living and records his travels through
photos, essays, and other forms of media. He loves to explore
indigenous cultures and photograph their people. When not on
the road, he resides just outside of Tucson, Arizona, with his
pet, Kenny the Pig. They both enjoy the serenity of the desert
and live surrounded by coyotes and cactus.
He asks questions about the nature
of Self, the importance of Purpose and the design of Life. Often
the inquiry of his existence seems to come down to one burning
question - "Why Am I Doing This? After selling his successful
dental practice he created Filmtrips.com as means to share his
art, express his passions and follow the ADVENTURE!
From Mark's journal entry, "WHY
AM I DOING THIS?"
Because I'm having a midlife
crisis? Because I can? To take pictures? Write a book? Meet people?
Learn Spanish? Have fun? Adventure? Yes, adventure! Perhaps all
of the above but mostly the adventure. Not knowing exactly where
I will be going and for how long. Having a flexible schedule and
fairly open agenda; to explore exterenally with my lens and internally
with my pen.

I don't know exactly what will
come out of the trip. I'm at a point in my life that I'm able
to do this. I have lots of ideas about the direction of my life
but it's not exactly clear. THAT'S THE ADVENTURE.
